Glimpse offers a number of handy tools to help you get your students involved in contributing to our website and print magazine. We encourage students from all areas of study to contribute to Glimpse, and we help those with less writing experience by undertaking an intensive, collaborative revision process with each and every contributor. Though not all submissions are ultimately accepted, we always offer students the chance to revise and encourage them to resubmit in the future. Students continually remark that writing for Glimpse helps them to sort out and reflect upon the overwhelming cultural experiences they confront while abroad.
To encourage your students to submit, you may:
- Email our general submission announcement to your students
- Print our PDF flyers and post them in your office or distribute them to your students
- Join our international educator newsletter to keep updated on current contribution opportunities
- Add a link to Glimpse on your website
General Submissions
We've made it a breeze to send your students emails encouraging them to contribute. Just click here for a forwardable html email that contains all the information they need to know. You can copy and paste a comma-separated email list or import a csv file.
Contests
We offer two contests each year: a fall writing contest and spring photo contest. Winners receive a $250 travel voucher, courtesy of STA Travel, and publication in Glimpse Quarterly (writing contest) or our annual Glimpse Calendar (photo contest). Click here for for current contest information.
The Word: International Educator Newsletter
Educators: the word on the street is that Glimpse offers your students an exciting array of opportunities to share their insights on living and studying abroad. Surveys, polls, photo and writing contests, online and print publication opportunities ... the list goes on and on. Keep track of the latest opportunities, and spread The Word! Sent on the first Monday of each month with an occasional mid-month announcement. Join today!
